Energy and Utilities

The key objective of the research area Energy and Utilities is the increased flexibility in the production, consumption, storage and conversion of energy and improved management of the energy and water distribution network.

The energy consumption can be roughly divided into three approximately equal domains: transport, heating and electricity for other uses. In order to reduce global warming and lower carbon footprint, and the strategic tendency to reduce dependence on energy imports, it is essential to focus on higher energy efficiency and renewable energy, which is also in hand in terms of (micro) location approach (on-site production Consumption).

Priority areas of development are Energy Conversion, Distribution and Management and Comprehensive Support for Water Services.
